How to Design the Patient's Story
It is important to present the patient's story as authentic as possible. This means presenting the case in all its complexity, just like in real life. For example, the case can also describe symptoms that do not necessarily belong to the disease that the student should diagnose, but nevertheless is a part of the individual patient. This should prepare the student for day-to-day reality and real patients later on.
However, please keep in mind which target group will be working on the case: less distractions and easier cases for beginners and more complexity for advanced students.
