Suitability: Answer type is appropriate when you want the student to complete a text (e.g., for patient education).
There are two possibilities:
No answer suggestions. Suitable when you want the student to actively write answers (similar to free-text).
Advantage: Demands active answers.
Disadvantage: An all-embracing encoding is only possible when there are definite answers that only have a few synonyms.
Answer suggestions are given in brackets. Suitable when you want the student to fill in the blanks.
Advantage: No encoding problems.
Disadvantage: Demands only passive knowledge.
Note: It is more comfortable for the student to have an underline answer instead, in which only a click is needed instead of a manual insertion.
