On this page you can determine whether the cases of your course shall be relesaed depending on prevoius case sessions of each user.
There are two possibilites for a dynamic case display (please only choose one of them!)

1) For a simple case sequencing the folllowing options are possible:

• No display rules (Default): This means that all cases in the course will be displayed immediately for the learner, as long as you did not choose any special date restrictions (see case criteria).
• Previous case must have been opened: This means that the learner has to open at least the first card of a case to get access to the following one.
• First case must have been openend: Same as for previous case, but this rule only applies for the first case. If the user has openend this first case, all other cases will be accesible. This may be useful if you want your users to have a look into an introductionary case, without forcing them to complete it.
• Previous case must have been completed: This means that every case has to be completed (=last card must have been opened), before the next case can be accessed. 
• First case must have been completed: This means that only the first case in the course must be completed (=last card openend), before all other cases will be accessible. This might for example be useful, if you want your learners to complete an introductionary case.
• Previous case must have been completed successfully: This means that a case not only has to be worked though to the last card, but also the required case criteria have to be met (see options under “Case criteria”). This option should be considered carefully, because it might cause that learners cannot access all cases in your course for example if they have did not answer a certain amount of questions correctly.  We only recommend this options in certain situations, such as for studies.
• Opening all cases in the course as one case: This option is only available for self-assessment courses. All cases assigned to this course will be opened as one case in the player and learners get only one link on the case selection page. Permutation among the cases, cards and answer items is possible.

OR

2) For a more complex model (also so-called “short&simple) you can define parent cases and assign them child cases. This is useful if you want to dynamically display more than one child case depending on the status of the parent case. The following options are available:

• For each case you can assess whether it is a child case and belongs to a parent case.
• The display rule (see also explanations above) determines when the child case will be displayed. As a special option you can define a child case which will only be displayed after all other child cases of the same parent case have been completed. This allows you for example to define a kind of summary case. 

Please do not use both settings at the same time!
