Card Navigation

The new card navigation feature lets you navigate more freely within a CASUS case. The following scenarios can be used:

  • Jumps: You can let users jump or skip over a couple of cards after major decision points.
  • Branches: You can have several cards that can be accessed freely and not in a fixed order. For example, you can access findings first and then return to the sequential order.
  • You can also create cases that are completely branched, however we only recommend doing so in special cases.

This feature is particularly useful in combination with an “open navigation” case (display only visited cards). Otherwise, the user will be able to access all cards. You can edit and change the case type in the metadata by clicking on the case name in the navigation menu on the left.

The card navigation menu can be accessed through the context menu of a card. A new dialogue is displayed. Within the dialogue you have the following options:

  • Options for the previous and next button
  • A list of additional navigation links or buttons

Each additional button has the following settings:

  • Type: button or link
  • Title: displayed within the link anchor or in the button
  • Target: the card that is linked to this link/button, a select box of all cards of the case
  • Display: Where this link/button is displayed, which can be after the info text, after the answer comment or at the end of the card.

Please note:

  • Links/buttons to disabled cards might work in the authoring system preview mode, but NOT in player mode.
  • Defining links/buttons that are meant to be displayed after an answer comment on cards that do not have a question/answer will never be displayed.
