Intellectual property rights (IPR) and data protection
This is a compley topic which also is dependant on the legislation of your country. On this page we try to summarize the most important points when creating a CASUS case:
For each multimedia material you would like to include in your case you need to obtain consent of the owner (e.g. through a licence). Please always include the source!
If you create your own multimedia material you have to make sure that you have written consent of all persons identifiable on the resource. This applies for “real” patients as well as for actors, students or colleagues etc.
Please store all consents in a secure place, where only you have access to.
If a consent has been withdrawn, make sure that all relevant resources of that person is removed from the cases.
If your case is based on a real patient history, please ensure that all personal details, such as name, date of birth etc. are changed.
Please kep in mind when implementing your case that all licences ans consents include the scenario of use you want to realize, especially when planning a commercial use.
