Lab Values
This type of task lets you list a patient's lab results and requires the student to classify the values as “elevated”, “lowered” or “normal”. The student must then decide what tests to run and what values he or she expects.
There are two mechanisms that can be used for this task:
- Including selection: The student has to explicitly select the answers. The question could for example be: “Which labs does your patient need and how do you expect them to be (elevated, lowered, normal).”
- Without selection: In this case, the question could be: “Which of these lab values changed and how did it change?”
